Fun in the Snow

Who says you can't have a White Christmas. Today, we took to the road to find snow. First we went to Julian (where it supposedly snowed an inch on Christmas), but couldn't find enough snow to our liking. We headed a little further to Mount Laguna off Sunrise Highway and found what we were looking for, lots and lots of fun snow to play with. Check out some of my favorite pictures below. Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Photographer in the making?

I took this shot of my son Andrew taking a picture of Fe Lyn and Alexa during our recent Photo session with the Medrano Family. Could he be following in his Dad's footsteps? :)

Lead me Lord

When your angry, confused, irritated, lost, depressed and other not so happy emotions, I always fall back to the Good Lord. He calms me, provides clarity and focus, helps me prioritize and gives me direction. I thank God for giving me my family, our health and our friends. May the Lord Bless you.

Here's a song I like to hear once in a while when my state of mind is not so right. :) Hope you like it.

The Medrano Family

We wanted fall colors, that is what the Medrano Family wanted in their pictures. But this is San Diego, there isn't much Fall foilage to see in San Diego. We googled fall foilage in San Diego and found out the best place to go was probably Rancho Cucamuca in Descano. So away we went, only to find out that most of the fall leaves and foilage had already fallen to the ground. BUT, we did find a location where there were several trees that still had some color, albeit not many leaves yet. At least we know when and where to come back next year. Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday's shoot. (We also found some nice tall golden grass :)

Ray and Cyra - "I do!"

Last Sunday, my brother Eric and my cousin Mike had the privilege to photograph Ray and Cyra's Wedding in Oceanside CA. It was an amazing wedding, so much family, friends and emotions to go around. What a fun day and such an honor that Ray and Cyra let us be a part of it. Here are a few pictures from the day. Congratulations Ray and Cyra!!

Cyra's beautiful wedding gown was made in the Philippines..

Gout

In the last 7 days, I've been unfortunately hit with gout. Usually it would hit my ankle, but this time it attacked my wrist. The swelling has finally decreased so I hope to be picking up my camera again this week.

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday, we took the children out to our annual visit to the Pumpkin Patch at Bates Nuts Farm in Valley Center, CA. This is probably one of the best pumpkin patches in San Diego, we really enjoy coming here every year before Halloween.

Kaylana Baptism

Kaylana Sands was baptised at the Good Samariton Church in San Diego. Family and friends were on hand to witness Kaylana's initiation into the Catholic Church. It is always a good feeling to see a young family grow, especially this one since I had photographed Kaylana's parents wedding last year. Kaylana is infectious with her smile, she is such a beautiful baby and I was glad to had been there during this special day.

Here is the Sands family arriving at the Church. Just in time!

New York New York!

I know, I've been a bit behind in my blogging, no excuses!

I couldn't just skip our last stop in our East Coast Trip, NY. It was raining, no check that, it was POURing on our way to NY. We didn't know what to expect, we didn't know if we could see some of the areas of NY that we wanted to hit. But it turned out to be one of our best trips to NY.

If you ever visit NY, try going by Subway, it seems the most efficient method of transportation (we had limited time) and make sure you are with someone who is very familiar with the trains. It can get really confusing!

Our first stop was Battery Park to see if we could visit the Statue of Liberty. Well, it was raining cats and dogs at this point, and it wasn't very visible. We decided to skip the ferry to the SOL so we had time to see other areas of NY (we've been there before anyway).

We decided to head towards Wall St, but stopped near a landmark Church, St. Paul's. I really enjoy history, and it amazes me to see graves from 200 years ago..

We made it Wall St.. this was just before the Stock Market crashed 700 pts..

We had a nice view of the Brooklyn Bridge.. by now our feet were starting to feeling it, having walked from Battery Park, to Wall St. to this pier that has a view of the Brooklyn Bridge..

But we weren't done, we found the nearest subway and took the next train to Central Park. It was the perfect time to go, the area had been drenched with rain over the past few days, making everything so GREEN. Coming from California where everything is BROWN, it was a beautiful site to see.. this is a memorial for John Lennon.. Imagine..

Everything was so green.. I really like the colors in this next picture with Fe Lyn..

You can probably guess what movie you've seen this bridge in..

And the next couple of shots have also been in movies..

Irma was our tour guide... thank you for showing us around!

After Central Park we headed towards Columbus Square to get some food..

Fe Lyn had a moment to call our children..

You can't be in NY without the Yellow taxis..

Since it was Sunday, we decided to attend mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral..

From here it was a short walk to Rockefeller Square..

And then something odd happened.. we started jumping :)

We ended up at Time Square.. and end to a wonderful day around NY.
